ok peeps, so who wants to leave behind the sensitive,  nice souls on the forum and get some 100% honest feedback from pro A&R people? I heard of this offer, related to Black Friday, where if you create an account with Spinnup you can release a single for free, through Spotify and iTunes and get feedback from 3 guest A&R scouts at Warner Bros music.

The link is here: https://spinnup.com/sound-advice/

They state it is only for UK-based artists at the moment but I am checking this with them and will let you know if I have any updates (i.e. ways to break the rules).

I think it´s gotta be worth a shout  :)

I have a thick skin and wouldn't mind trying something like that, but I'm not from the UK, so--unless they let in anyone who's a member of a forum based in the UK--I'm out of luck. Of course, it would depend on how much it costs to create an account with Spinnup.

Sounds interesting but I don't need the reality check. Think I'll stay in cuckoo land!  :)

Quavers, Crotchets, Doritos. What's the difference?

I think I'd be interested in this if I were aiming for Radio land but I'm a little closeted in my indie pop world atm. Plus, I'm already terribly aware of my own shortcomings...

Agree!  Not sure I want Warner's telling me to sound more like The Feeling.  Note that was the only 'modern' band I could think of without Googling. Not sure if they're even still going....or modern...let me just Google that....    :P

I would love to do this but not sure that me singing (badly) into my phone with no music would get much of a critique!

Think others should definitely do it though.  You never know what doors it could open.  Even if it's simply through boosting somebody's confidence.

Cheers
A

If you do music for fun and aren't that bothered then fine. But if you're serious about a career in music you should definitely do it.
