What's it all about? it's all there in the song.
(I will elaborate on request)

Enjoyment and

Feedback would be lovely

and the Lyrics

the one who truly deserves you

friends will be kind
until they kind of desert you
come the hour of
need you find they cannot afford to
be the one, the only one
who truly deserves you

look at the stars
and you'll see the way that I do
for all they care
you can go to hell, look out for yourself
when all is said and done, you're the one
best fit to rely on

be the one, the only one
who truly deserves you

pretty smiles are
tasted until they change their shapes
while precious time
is wasted on vacuous handshakes
turn your back on those who would share
their onerous heartaches

be the one, the only one
who you can rely on
you're the one, the only one
who truly deserves you

the one who truly deserves you

I always look forward to your songs @rightly...Nick Cave meets David Byrne 😍

It meanders along dragging the listener through a hedge backwards but at the end you kind of say can we do that again 😂

Lyrically it’s so interesting -

pretty smiles are
tasted until they change their shapes
while precious time
is wasted on vacuous handshakes
turn your back on those who would share
their onerous heartaches

Fabulous stuff mate...I’m totally intrigued...the imagery here is brilliant...

Lovely arrangement 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@rightly - as @kafla says, one never knows what's coming, which I really really dig.

This is superb Mr Right, the rhythm provided mostly by the piano LH part, I hate to say it but this is even better than the last one, that I said was your best work.

Vocal mixing is perfect, is sounds like you brought it up in the mix a bit more than usual.

Your vocals match the enigmatic lyrics, which are completely graspable

Nothing to add, you are a pioneer man, keep surfing this wave ...

Loving the bouncy and upbeat innocence of the piano track and the disconnect between this and the serious message of the track. This track is kind of deceiving; it seems quite minimalistic and stripped back when you let the piano track suck you in and monopolise your attention but when you listen more closely there's actually quite a lot going on in the track but it all marries so well without clashing or detracting from each other. As I listen I was thinking that maybe doubled vocals might have worked but when they came in at the end I kinda feel it works holding off until then - kinda a more powerful signing off.

I'm always intrigued by your songs @rightly .. this one too :) .. I really like the lyrics - some lovely touches and images in there.. particularly the smile line which has been pointed out by others.. I REALLY LOVE the plinky piano.. probably not surprising that that would appeal..  Brushed drums also great..

Loved this almost as much as @kafla 's hedge backwards description - lol..

Great stuff..

The truth is that I always like your songs, sometimes for the lyrics and others for the ensemble and today I feel a curious mixture, on the one hand the lyrics I think are interesting, critical, scathing, and on the other the instrumentation here could be a thousand different ways but I think that casual piano gives it the touch that the style of what you say needs  @rightly

This is another piece of truly unique music from you @rightly You seem to be coming up with some wonderful burlesque style music at the moment. This is a brilliant piece of work. Quirky, original and very absorbing

Fabulous jaunty rolling piano undercutting the darker lyrics here Rightly.  As always from you, it is totally original, no whiff of cliche.  I also like the way you often 'half use' some instruments... they just about appear in the background (some brass this time?) but are deployed subtly and don't steal the limelight too much.  That's also unusual and intriguing.
It's all too beautiful.

The road no one else has traveled is often the most interesting as this song proves. Love the piano work - like nothing else and once again your originality and skill show through. Your vocals are definitely improving all the time. I so admire your ability to work outside the box the rest of us are trapped in and you manage to make a beautiful thing.

Hi,a truly inventive backing track that holds together despite the staccato feel and interspersing of discrete sounds and approaches, which is interesting. I would say though, that as you follow this path your melodies and performance of the songs are becoming more and more sympathetic and accessible. You are forging a path. 8)

Cheers
