Just a simple little love song  :)

Alice

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSXnfaoGlIc

I waited till dark to cut out his heart
and buried it under the moon
when I woke it was cold, he pulled us together
and whispered 'my darling I'll love you forever'
and thats when I new it was true
thats when I new it was you

Oh I wonder why I can't see the trees for the blue of the sky
Oh I wonder why I can't see the truth through the blue in your eyes

You speak of our lives, like parallel lines
that end when we end but you see
your life will not end when you think it will end
as your life will not end without me.

...ok well....those lyrics are beautiful...I don't know what else to say, they flow so well, yet aren't generic, like super cliche, and that's pretty perfect, at least to me...wow...I'm impressed, best lyrics i've seen on here.
it reminds me of vampires.
What if we both just smiled at once?

beautiful and whimsical like bjork (i hope this as a compliment for you!). The 1st couple of words with the harmony sounds a little bit weird to me but works as the song goes on so I like it but the initial reaction is a little bit jarring. This is a minor minor critique though!

Thank you Jim!

Sellon - I never considered the vampire angle, but I like that you've interpreted it that way, I like my songs to be a bit spooky!

Tom - The harmonies I wasn't sure about keeping in, I deleted most and the ones I did keep I'm still unsure. So I know what you mean. As for the Bjork comment - I'm a big fan so thank you. Ahh you got my first Youtube comment! Much appreciated  :D

Thank you Nooms. Haunting is just what I'm trying to achieve so I'm really chuffed with your comment.

I'm now listening to this for the third time which is the best compliment I can give, I hear Azure Ray and Mercury Rev but it is its own thing.

A love the initial harmony because it's a bit weird and I'm sure you know that weird is good.

The delivery of the words and the pluck of the strings paint a lovely dark pastural vision.

I look forward to hearing more - VERY nice work!

excellent Alice as usual  ;D

Firstly I think your songs miss a variation - you tend to use the same sections without a mid 8 / instrumental break. I think if you built a little more tension you would really be world class. Just another minute or so each time to heighten the whole experience . :)

That aside I love this - lyrically its beautiful - canT highlight a section as I just love the whole concept

I also love the harmonies and melody - you really are outstanding and should have a record deal and what a video  ;D

Hiya :) What a really cool song. Loved the vocals and everything about it.
Like Nooms said, a really haunting sound. It's like you are almost speaking as a ghost.

There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in  , but they're ever so small, that's why rain is thin.

Incredible composition. The arrangements are beautifull and very well recorded. Your voice is like an angel. The lyrics are grim. That combination makes it mysterious. Again I'm impressed by the outstanding quality that some do, here on the forum. And you are definitly one of them, Alice.

THIS IS AMAZING!

great vocals and vocal melody

you chose to keep the music, singing melody and instruments quite the same throughout the song

that works, it gives a hypnotic feeling, but i would have expected something big to happen at the end

and that didn't which may be a good thing
or not...i am not sure

but it sounds great, as always, Miss white rabbit
