Hi all,

Having a chilled afternoon listening to some of my favourite artists and have come to the decision that of I could pick anyone's voice to have it would be Hayley Williams of Paramore. If I were of the male species I would go with Aaron Lewis.

Who would you go with if you had the choice?

I quite like my own, actually!  Sure, there are things I wish I could improve about it - notably the top end of my range and my ability to sustain quiet notes - but I don't have any great desire to sing like anyone else.  I'd rather cultivate my own style.

Good question....

For me it would be:

Male = Prince - I love the tone and range of his voice

Female = Colbie Caillat - such a gorgeous tone

I'm no singer Guy so pretty much anybody else would be an improvement for me!

Nice choice gents.

I agree Colbie has a lovely voice, very soothing.

Smokey Robinson. With that range you could sing in whatever style you wanted and still sound good.

Don Henley: I would love to be able to sing The Last Resort (or anything) like him. Higher and higher and higher... :o

Quavers, Crotchets, Doritos. What's the difference?

Well, I'd like a combination of mine along with Linda Ronstadt, Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, anybody from Pentatonix, et al. Mainly I want a minimum 5-octave range and whistle tones.

Hands down Freddie Mercury. For a female I'd probably go with Sia - her voice is phenomenal and is her main songwriting 'instrument'.

It's a toss-up between
Sam Cooke and Harry Nilsson

I was thinking about this some more and I realized that, when I sing covers, I quite often end up imitating the original singer's voice anyway.  Do pther people tend to do that?

I don't have the chops to do too many covers, either vocally or instrumentally. So, no. I'm just not capable.
