Well, I'm not actually.  Far from it I'm practically a hypochondriac.

But I thought I'd introduce myself, my name's Matt - I'm a 28 year old singer songwriter from the North West.  I guess I'm looking to speak to like minded people for a while as over the last few months my music's been all over the place along with my head.  I've started to get a really serious case of writer's block and I'm hoping it'll pass.  In the mean time I've taken to adapting other peoples' songs in to my own covers rather than come up with original songs of my own.

Hope to speak to y'all soon,
Peace, love and bananas.

I think we might need nurse Tina in here, with that intro  :-*

Welcome :) As Nooms says there are plenty of people here who are willing to chip in

and help with advice and opinions and the like. Everyone's friendly :)

Hi Matt

Welcome to the songwriter forum :) I set this forum up because I wasn't writing enough, and I wanted to be part of a wider songwriting community. Good news is I've had my most prolific songwriting year ever in 2011, thanks in part to the great community here.

Dive in, and have fun. Looking forward to hearing your work.

Hey Matt

Good to have you on board ;)

Regarding your writers block, I've been thinking if collaborating with someone. Maybe writing with someone else will help you?

Offers there pal. And enjoy the forum!

Peter

What kind of stuff do you write Chainsaw?

I spent a long time in a band, gave up most of my teenage years to music and learning the basics, passed up the opportunity to go to college instead choosing to gig and tour (I make it sound more glamorous than it was) and then went solo a year or so ago.  I guess the thing that does my head in the most about my situation is that I'm from Blackpool & to be honest the scene was at it's best about five years ago.

And even then it wasn't a patch on anywhere else.  I'd love to collaborate with some new people be it singing, providing rhythm guitar (or both) and my main ambition is to take my own stuff in to the bigger cities where people are a bit more switched on to new music.
