I love the lyrics to this song, especially the Chorus.

Excellent song!

The vocal on the verses could do with being a little up in the front, it gets a little lost. It was an interesting song. The solos caught me way off guard! Always good to be surprised. Generally this song didn't really do it for me. Didn't really connect with it. However, your song, Thick Of It came on straight after and I liked that much more, just goes to show doesn't it.

Cheers,
Chris.

Rockin chorus in this. Good stuff John.

I never got to hear the first mix you put up where folks thought the vox was too loud but IMHO its now too soft, particularly in the verses. Could do with a tweak there. To me its not quite up there with Music In My Head, probably the sparser arrangement in the latter allows the song to breathe a lot more and the song is all the better for it.

I liked this

The lead vocal needs to come up IMHO

I saw that you had comments earlier about it being too loud so I think you may have over compensatd a little

The drums and bass are working superbly together - great job mixing these as they give the track a great foundation and punch

The "mid" section at around 2.35 and the sound at the end is awesome

Thanks all for your comments regarding vocals. I mistakenly uploaded an old version of the song. This has now been addressed  :)

Hey there Pompy.......love the solo Lennon vibe, hear.
Love the story........engaging lyrics with the music you wrote.
Absolutely love the title / hook.....great lyric and melody hook!

Loving the chorus here! And any song with obscure French placenames... and that instrumental break... and the little far-off guitar flourishes.

I really liked the line "not even a whisper" - just sounded right.

Intriguing stuff here, some brilliant bits and one bit that didn't work as well for me.
Musically it seemed to switch gears several times without joining things up (which I am obsessive about it seems, a nice smooth join so just ignore my if it was what you wanted).

I thought the verse was really nicely moody, synths sounded good and your voice sounds better than ever, lovely and rough full of character. :)

The chorus didn't quite work for me, didn't quite seem to belong attached to the verse. The other small thing was I found the electric guitars played a rhythm close the vocal rhythm and they upset each other a bit. :(

Then the instrumental break and ending were amazing, loved em. The bass stabs and the keytar sort of solo are just great.

Loads of fab touches and your vocals better then ever  :)

Tom.
