No hopes, no dreams, no lives, no means,

No way through the pain,
No shelter from this endless rain,
Ain't no shame in placing the blame, on this game
We call survivin', like visionless drivin'
There's no place to go, no way of comin' through this though,
Never givin' chances, given our circumstances,
Early age, only way to express, was through rage,
Family's who didn't care,
'N' most of the daddy's weren't even there,
And they wonder why we all tear, away, and hope and pray,
That one day, we can get our pay,
Without risking the penitentiary,
'Coz all my boys strugglin' to get by,
Now dealing drugs, coz can't get jobs even if they lie,
Everyday we walk the streets hopin' not to die,
No schoolin', but who are we foolin'?
We wouldn't have it any other way,
Gotta pretend we soldiers and thugs till the day we pass away,
Sleepin' on the streets, over playin' them beats,
Lyrics flow while we just follow our 'feats'
Warrants, bail, riskin' jail, young and frail,
But the rhymes flow, at least they never go stale,
The way outta this situation, is through the radio station,
Everyone gotta have a dream,
but ours is different, know what I mean?
Wanna home that don't get robbed, a decent job,
Provide for our mother, show her how much we love her,
And what she done for us, can't be easy given the hand that was dealt us,
When god was givin' out lives were we back of the queue?
But wouldn't change what we've been through,
'Coz street dreams are made of this,
Drugs, violence, that's just the start of the list...

 Dedicated to the struggle

(To the hustle)
Dedicated to streets
(To the lyrics and beats)

Dedicated to the single mums
Raisin' there little ones,
Dedicated to the kids
Hopin' they survive this,
Dedicated to the farthers
Who actually stayed by there families beside us

Kicked outta school, never given a rule,
If we chose the life we're livin'
what's the point in askin' to be forgiven?
Lifes a bitch, and then we die,
So I beg the question, why even try?,
When everyday is a new compromise,
Full of hurt pain and lies,
Single mothers on welfare,
Got kids without dads but do they even care?
They just carry on, makin' sure they lookin' out for the little one,
Try'na give 'em a life they never had,
Not unemployed, two jobs at once, a mum and a dad,
'Coz it can't be easy raising your son, not to idolise the thugs,
Never get hit by slugs, and never to turn to the drugs,
'Coz street dreams are made of this,
When to survive is your only wish,
Mentally strained, physically stained,
Everyday feels drained,
But you gotta pick yourself up, carry on,
This is what livin' in the streets, is made of,
Everyday the same shit, this ain't no one off,
When ya can't even walk round ya block,
Without the fear of gettin' knocked off,
Or someone takin' ya rock,
From around ya neck,
But all this shit just keeps you in check,
Fighting away the fear tho
But when we get out n make summat of ourselves,
We'll be a hero...

Dedicated to the struggle
(To the hustle)
Dedicated to streets
(To the lyrics and beats)

Dedicated to the single mums
Raisin' there little ones,
Dedicated to the kids
Hopin' they survive this,
Dedicated to the fathers
Who actually stayed by there families beside us

If there was life after death, we wouldn't even draw our next breath,
Just give up instead,
And find a better place,
Where life is fair, and life is good,
If only we only could, we know we should,
When you see 12 year olds stealin' cars and not givin' a fuck,
Little girls who drop to thier knees to give a suck,
Was it our luck?
was it our fate?
Maybe we weren't at the back, maybe we were late?
'Coz this wasn't my destiny, to live aimlessly,
And not care in what tomorrow I see,
Smoke weed like cigarettes,
That became borin', on to class A's next,
You'd have to release the stress,
'Coz street dreams are hard to come bye,
But never forget we can doin' we want, even fly,
Never let people say you can't be the best,
Look after yourself, fuck the rest, yeah?
'Coz life's what you make of it ain't it?
Im sure you got the potential, to be a millionaire with a stake in it,
Ain't nuffin more I can say or do,
My shits over, im through,
I don't believe it but I gotta believe lies,
And I just hope when the next generation arrives,
They live a little more, instead of just try'na survive...

I'm not sure whether I'm right or not, but is this more of a rap? It just seems quite long to be sung as a song.
If so, I love it! It tells a really clear story, and the title's really clever! 'street dreams'
I really like this, and would love to hear it!

Yes all my work is rap music, thank you for reading, it is very long, I got carried away and had too much to say, I actually wrote this a very long time ago.

Nice,

I think you should shorten it though.
Maybe take out a few lines and it will be fine.

haha, I know its huge init!!

I'll probably cut about 30-50% from each verse, going to be hard deciding what to keep.

To be honest I wrote this years ago, when recording wasn't really on my mind.

Thanx for reading and your input, its much appriciated.
