Had a go at implementing some of your suggestions yesterday Friedmann. Like you say it's many little things that go to improving a song. I'm afraid I'm very guilty of perhaps not finishing things off properly as I seem to be on some sort of creative splunge, so my rationale is to knock out what I'm hearing in my head and work on the production a bit more later (although that rarely seems to happen !)
