Despite the big fanfare and publicity early in the year, the UFO documentary The Age of Disclosure still has not been released and virtually no one is talking about it or asking about it now. Strange! :o Just SMH...

I always enjoy listening to cover versions of hit songs performed by the lovely and talented Emily Linge on her YouTube channel. ;D

Feedback on Works in Progress / Under Her Hypnosis (demo)
Last post by icystorm - Jul 02, 2025, 07:24 PM
Under Her Hypnosis is a song I wrote and recorded last summer.🎵 It's about a guy who falls under the spell of the adorable enchantress, Hedra. While in love with Hedra, he rudely tells off his ex-girlfriend and cruelly shames her. Of course, Hedra controls his mind and made him do it! 😲😮😱

My mix of the track is muddy, and the guitars and drums are obviously too loud and dominant in the mix. Those are facets of the production I will work on and refine in the final demo. Plus, I can imagine a new music video that supports the song's story in a better way. Yet, I love the lead actress in the preliminary video below! ;D

Under Her Hypnosis
Words and Music: Joseph Spain
Produced by: Joseph Spain
© 2024, 2025 Joseph Spain
song from my forthcoming horror novel "Omega's Dark: The Transference"

--Verse 1
You used to be a lovely girl
Sorta lonely, kinda cute in your own way
Now that's in the past
And lost with yesterday

--Verse 2
You used to be the special one
With a radiance you made all faces smile
Now that didn't last
You've only tears to cry

Pre-chorus 1
My new love is a mega-force
She's got me, she's the one
Her draw is an attraction
With the pull 'n power of a thousand suns

--Chorus
I'm into her like a comet's tail I chase behind
Our love storm's like a winter's blizzard white-out leaves me blind
She comes and moves in her spirit
Her love takes us high
Up off the ground
Far beyond the clouds
I'm under her hypnosis now

--Release
She comes and moves and her water sends me higher now

--Verse 3
You used to be so fun to kiss
Sorta clever, kinda new in your own way
But that's over now
That ship has sailed away

--Verse 4
You used to be the only one
With a perfect whisper wrapped in love so shy
But you're over now
You've many tears to dry

--Pre-chorus 2
My new love is the only force
Behind her there's no one
Her call is an attraction
With the pull 'n power of a million suns

(repeat chorus/release)

--Bridge
Bliss is the lost state of mind
An illusion in the sky
I'm out of orbit chasing her
Past the moons of Neptune
Drawn into her light

(repeat chorus x1)

-- outro
She comes and moves and her water sends me higher now
(you're under my hypnosis now)
She comes and moves and her water brings me higher love
(you're under my hypnosis now)
She comes and moves and her water sends me higher now
(you're under my hypnosis now)
She comes and moves and her water brings me higher love
(you're under my hypnosis now)

Feedback on Works in Progress / Re: Back Against the Wall
Last post by Vicki - Jul 02, 2025, 06:11 PM
I listened to both videos and I noticed two things regarding performance...you are good with pitch and you seem to be holding back, almost like you're worried about being heard.

Also, regarding structure...the melody is very repetitive--the same few notes over and over. It needs development. Since you referred to this as a "rough song idea", I'll assume you're planning to do more developing of the structure. I do think it is worth it.

And, finally, I'm still waiting to see evidence that you are listening to the work of others on this forum and providing them with feedback. If you watch trends, you'll notice that the people who get the most feedback are those who also provide feedback. I know it can be intimidating; that was me, once upon a time. All you need to do is mention something you like about the song or the lyrics, and/or something you think might need work. The more you do it, the easier it gets--just like songwriting!

I have a rough song idea and wanted to get your honest opinion. I uploaded a demo tracxk to YouTube, and I'd really appreciate it if you could give them a quick listen. I just want to know if there's something worth building on.

sounds lovely, the emotions that you wanted to convey through the image of a weathered down motorcycle clearly comes through :) Good simple flowing arrangement as well

So impressive:) your voice so beautifully intonated, weaving smoothly over the narrative of the song.
