It's back to the early 80's this time with a slice of disco pop from that era with some maybe not so upbeat lyrics thrown in.

As usual, all feedback is much appreciated  :)

V1
Such a lot to do
But we don't have the time
Or space
Or money
For breaking down the borders

V2
It's a waste of time
Any nothing they say is true
You'll lose your mind
We're breaking down the borders

Break

V3
What we going to find
When everything's laid bare
You'll stand and stare
Cos you've got to follow orders

Bridge
We all want a better world
We've all seen the flags unfurled
Hold your head up high
Cos you don;t need a reason why

Stand up for what you believe in
Don't let hatred sneak in
Maybe, maybe one fine day
The wind will blow the other way

V4
What a wasted state
Turned into real estate
They dig for gold
Forget about the borders

Great song and vocal.  Made me jump instantly to Steely Dan, pop but super-sophisticated.  I like that your vocal goes harder on the bridge; it makes a nice contrast.

It is the production standard that hit me most though.  That sets a bar for me to work towards.  I’ve listened to the track on some very transparent headphones and a revealing hi-fi too and those drums sound in the room and the woodwind surely is a real instrument?  Did you go into a studio for this?

John.

Thanks for the kind review @Whiskey Club I record all of my music in my basement room into Reaper via a Scarlett 2i2 and I guess I've learned a bit production wise over the years (I've been home recording for 8 years now)

The drums on the track are EZ Drummer, "Disco Pop" no other FX on them

Bass is midi programmed and using Xpand2 Vsti

Strings, I'm using Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra

Pads - Xpand2, XNexus and Sonivox Twist

The Sax is a manipulated sample from the excellent Bob Reynolds Sax Samples kit

Vocals just Reaper stock compression and EQ with a touch of verb

Many Thanks  :)

Love how you embrace doing different things on your tracks. All those synth elements are really well put together and everything gels very nicely. Some cool hooks in there, mostly on the instrumentation rather than vox. I can't say there's anything in there I didn't like - pretty solid work again.
