Hi!
New to the forum..very impressed with what I've seen so far.
Would love it if you could give my song a listen.
This is a very reflective song about overcoming the demons many of us have and finding a way back to your true self.
Light of Love
Light of Love
Verse 1
I don’t want to let them in
Strip me to the core, my bones, my skin
Yet still they rise, and still I run.
I don’t want to feel this anymore
I’m finding it hard to deal with you tonight
Turn the lights off say goodnight
Verse 2
I don’t want to feel like this
so much left to do, so much I miss
To take one step, just to take one chance
You don’t have to take this in your stride
I’m finding a way to be with you tonight
Chorus 1
Save my soul, finding a way
Sharing the light of love
In your arms, hold me
Save my heart, breaking apart
Sharing the light of love
In your arms, hold me, hold me
Verse 3
I don’t want to let you down
Picking up the pieces to bring me round
For all we know, this is all we’ll know
I don’t want to keep this to myself
I’m finding a way to be with you tonight
For the first time in my life
Chorus 2
Save my soul, finding a way
Sharing the light of love
In your arms, hold me
Save my heart, breaking apart
Sharing the light of love
In your arms, hold me,
hold me in you’re heart
Ending
You’re in my heart
You’re in my heart

Yo pnb.
Welcome to the forum. :)
From the first opening bar on the piano,I thought, man this is so lovely that it can only go awry from this point.
It didn't.
Your sensitive vocals carried the delicate and emotive song to it's conclusion.
Utterly compelling and totally convincing. If you were on soundcloud or Spotify,I'd be following you on the basis of this piece alone.
Thank you for posting, the forum quality has just been raised with this one beautiful song.
I sincerely hope you stick around and we hear more of your music. 8)

A really lovely song, reminds me a bit of George Michael in places (which is a compliment)

This is brilliant - a great song, and you're an awesome singer. It feels almost churlish to say anything critical - I will just say that on the one hand, I find the line about bones and skin a touch melodramatic. But on the other, you clearly know what you're doing and should probably just ignore me. ;D

Paul, this is top quality man. Welcome to our umble little forum

Hi, fab voice! It does remind me a little of George M in places, that can't be a bad thing.Good song, excellent production sounds very pro.

Really lovely song ... great voice and nice piano, like the sparse arrangement. Excellent stuff.

Hey!
Thanks for all your very generous comments. This song means a great deal to me so I was a little nervous about sharing etc.
Thanks for your feedback.
Paul.

Its so much easier to write a sad love song isn't it.
-
I honestly have no idea what that comment is saying.
Firstly, it’s not a love song.
Secondly, it wasn’t easy to write.
But thanks for your contribution.
-
I should also add; this isn’t me singing, it’s a very talented session vocalist I use.

Gee, wish I had access to (or had the £££) to get a singer of that quality.
I'm not a fan of songs which are stripped back for the full length, but I can't argue with the quality. I especially liked the way the backing came in - a nice little lift to keep it all going. You have a new YouTube channel subscriber :)

Thanks Bankie.

Excellent song and you've found yourself a good singer...would prefer a bit more build towards the end but that's a personal thing..
really good work.. :)
-
You have an absolutely stunning voice. Effortless with fabulous phrasing. Really enjoyed this.
