Hi guys

I've recognised my song writings went through a bit of a dark period so a light hearted rock song :)

Music will be put to this shortly :)

Old Red Ford

Look at you in your tight blue jeans
With your eyes full of fire and mystery
A heart of gold between a bottle of beer and a rosary
Sitting in a bar in Nashville, Tenessee when I saw you
I was resting my feet and resting my soul
Before I took the wheel of my old cherry red Ford

I know you don't believe in god or nothing like that
All I really need is for you to believe in me
I ain't got no faith because I'm tired of running
And never looking back I've been a runaway
Since I was 16 years old I was a badboy
A black sheep and I was running from the law
In my old cherry red Ford

I guess it's kinda obvious that I ain't no saint
You say your an angel but who your trying to kid
If that were true you wouldn't be round my place
With your sunday dress bundled up somewhere on my floor
Looks like were prisoners of love its just the same
Let's go for a ride in my old cherry red Ford

My grandmother always said
Wherever I plants my seeds is where my garden grows
Now I think its time to settle down because
The light she shines has redefined my whole beliefs
Looks like a beat up punk like me can love after all
Perhaps it's time I passed down my old cherry Ford

I read this when you first posted it and meant to review it. I really like it, it has this old timey rock and roll vibe, like some sort of chuck berry song with the tag line 'cherry red ford', but also has a great story to it that develops really nicely as the song goes on. Reminds me of Springsteen at times. Just one comment however, I know that when you mention memphis, Tennesee you're alluding to Americana and the history of country music and the south ect, however, I'm guessing you've never actually been to Memphis. It may sound more geniune and original if you mention a place in the UK close to you. Similiar to how Bruce always talks about asbury NJ even though it may not have been cool to do so at the time. Anyhow, I can't wait to hear it, with some nice electric guitar intertwined with the great lyrics. Did anything ever happen with that song of yours that got recorded? I would love to hear it! I've said it before, but you will make a great cohesive album full of stories some day I will definetal buy it!

Very good point Gibson

It was actually originally called Old Red Chevy but I actually thought... I've never even seen a Chevy before haha

Just a case of me forgetting to check over but well spotted

Otherwise thanks for your kind review

I'm currently home recording with my friend but as with Work and College commitments I've been slowed down but I promise I will post them when I can
