So there's been a lot of speculation about the uk songwriting competition and I've never entered however this year I really want to. I'd be entering in the lyrics section but how do I pick THE song? I mean I know I've got no chance of winning but I still want to enter me best piece so do I go for originality, emotion, memorability, talent, etc? Everyone's told me to check previous winners and I have and that's still not giving me a lot of guidance So tell me, nice forum people, what would YOU do?

pick the lyrics with the most meaning to you and obviously from previous winners work out if you have a better chance with lyrics or the lyrics and a tune to go with.
