This is great!

I have it on loud in my office here early in the day. My shipping manager just popped in....he wanted to know what I was listening to. He is right here now still head bopping to this infectious tune.

@man made material

I love this, largely because it's unlike anything I would consider putting together myself.

The space you give to all the instruments and vocals is great. Nothing is trampling over anything else, and the way those key stabs follow the vocals? Again, different, catchy, and, well, fun...... Fresh! That's the word I was looking for.

On a first listen. it seems like a pretty short song, but as it's 4m 10s it turns out it's not short at all, It just held my attention, and i didn't get bored. That's thanks to the way you put it together and says a lot about the quality of the songwriting and production.

Oh and love what you did with the affected vocals too!

Overall, the melancholy of lyrics mixed in with some chirpy keyboards creates something really endearing and innocent-sounding. It's such an easy, pleasurable listen, but beneath the surface, I can detect something very clever indeed with the composition.

Great song. Thanks for sharing.

Regarding the vocals on this one, I didn’t do a great deal of fiddling... the verse might have a bit of compression, the second part I did use a chorus effect, the third part I sang a sort of harmony at the higher and lower end of my (limited!) register... but I think they’re pretty naked... I did have to fix the odd duff note too!😁

I really like this!
vocals could to be a touch louder, or prominent.
but excellent songwriting here
I like the cold poppyness of it.
Well done
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

Hello,  @man made material,

definitely a slice of 80's synth pop, from a decade that's I knew a little too well. It's an unusual mixture of happy music and downbeat lyrics. I'd be careful not to submerge your voice behind the wall of sound which is very dominant. The title says it all and is a good opening gambit. The lyric about not washing the t-shirt is a cool way of drawing the listener int the the world of your song.

Interestingly the 80's was a great time to be involved in making music. It was a time when we could all expect something new regardless of whether it was to our taste or not. It's great to hear such a wide spectrum of styles presented on the forum. Welcome friend!
