THE WEEKEND
This weekend workshop will be run by Reg Meuross, who has been described as "our finest home-grown songwriter". His heartfelt songs and warm demeanour have established him as a regular at all the major folk festivals and he has released eight critically acclaimed albums.
Reg will encourage you to find your own song, to explore who you are and where you come from, and to write at least one song that reflects who you are and your own world, that could be passed from you to your next generation. Guided by Reg you will immerse yourself in your own thoughts, origins, fantasies and dreams and through exercises Reg has developed over many years, will find new ways of drawing out words and crafting them into song lyrics, as well as creating melody and music which also combine with your words to reflect this very personal expression in song.
As well as songwriting exercises, Q&A sessions and writing new songs you will also have a chance to perform your existing songs to Reg for feedback/critique, and on the Saturday night there will be a performance where you will have a chance to perform to the group, as well as enjoying a set by Reg himself.
