Can any of the more experienced tell me...

Does the 14 day rule apply to one recording for the whole of the forum or for each category?

For instance, if I've posted a song in finished songs, can I then post a different one for help in recording for example?

Thanks

Yes, 14 day rule applies to individual forum areas and not the forum as a whole

It seems to have worked well by slowing down the forum a bit but keeping people active

Hmmm .. I thought that the 14 days was for song put to music ..

and when I posted an Instrumental in the Bar .. a member thought I was clever to sneak one post more to the forum .. and made lot of fun about it .. any way ..

so it's possible to post in unfinished page a track of rough recording to get feedback ??

thanks

Cheers ..

The rule applies more in the actual 'songs' sections, whereas the lyrics section is slightly more relaxed because there are less people posting. Obviously, if you only leave 12 days between posting, no ones going to do anything, but it's just to stop people posting 3 songs in one day (you'd be surprised at how many people still do) :)

But Jess .. after I post a rough recording of song .. for ex. played on a guitar and singing the lyrics in one take .. that will be considered a song posting .. and I have to wait another 14 days to post a finished song .. is n't it ??

thanks

It's pretty clear to me, what Boydie said..

14 days between songs posted on the wip board..

14 days between songs posted on the finished songs board.

So you can (if you want) post one song per week but you'd need to alternate between works in progress and finished projects.

What about collabs?   Ive sort of wondered if that counts as a half a post each???? that's they way I am reading it anyway otherwise two people lose their posts for the fortnight.

Allan.

I would say for collabs that at least one person must not have posted in the last 14 days - so the collab would use up 1 persons posting "credit"

We must not lose sight of why we made the changes - it was simply to slow down the forum pages so songs stick around on the front page a little longer and we prevent a few prolific writers taking over the boards

This ultimately benefits everyone so waiting a bit before posting seems a very small price to pay IMHO

If your putting up a finished song and a wip song within a 2 week period ,and 15 other people are thats 60 songs a month to wade through...

The lyrics are different..but then sometimes that forum seems to go nuts.

I think it is important to say that the posting rules are a LIMIT and not a TARGET!!!  ;)
