Hello my creative friends.

This is hot off the press. I was going to take a break from making music, but this one popped into my head so I thought 'why not'?  :)

It's about how we sometimes take relationships for granted.

Don't be put off by the amount of lyrics in the song. Its not actually a long song I just sing really fast on it :)

When you’re tired and you’ve got no time for her
Do you think she’s not allowed to feel hurt
Go to bed, tomorrow’s another day

She  can’t sleep and she doesn’t know what to do
Tossing turning all because of you
In her head, tomorrows wasting away

If you don’t respect her then she’s never going to give you what you want
If you don’t believe then what’s the point, it’s just no fun

There’s a little piece of heaven standing right in front of you
Do you recognise the feelings that you both are going through
Can you look her in the eye and see her smiling back at you, yes its true

When you try but its just not good enough
You try your luck, maybe read a book
Watch the news, tomorrows another day

Have a drink, read a magazine
Check your phone, what’s it like to be you
A slave to what you never wanted to be

When you climb in bed beside her do you go to hold her tight?
And do you close your eyes and dream of her every night?

There’s a little piece of heaven standing right in front of you
Do you recognise the the feelings that you both are going through
Can you look her in the eye and see her smiling back at you, yes its true

When you’re tired and you’ve haven’t got time for her
Do you think she’s feeling right with that
Go to bed, tomorrow’s another day

You’re asleep and she doesn’t know what to do
Tossing turning all because of you
In her head, tomorrows wasting away

Don’t lose yourself, just make her happy
Don’t waste your time, just make her happy

Don’t lose yourself, just make her happy
Don’t waste your time, just make her happy

There’s a little piece of heaven standing right in front of you
Do you recognise the the feelings that you both are going through
Can you look her in the eye and see her smiling back at you, yes its true

I sometimes fancy a break from the process, but I can't! This is another of your classy songs. The influences are obvious so I won't go there again. Great vocals and a fabulous arrangement. it's hard to off critique when something's done as well as this. Anthemic in the right way. A wonderful track. :)

That's really kind of you, @ChrisPrice

It's weird isn't it? Not sure what it's like for you but music is just in my head and I can't stop it at the moment. If I ten what I feel is a good idea then I have to record it because if not, then it's lost forever.

I guess now I have this studio setup its going to be a bit if a curse on my time until I run out of ideas!!

Oh well, there are worse problems to have :)

Well, I'm glad this song was born, it is so well constructed and produced!!! You make the tone changes so natural, little forced! I really liked it, both the lyrics, the music and the voice!!

Buen día @Nick Ryder
I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

@Nick Ryder – catchy melody, lovely little poppy number, Beatles influence strong – which can’t be a bad thing. Lovely production to these inexpert ears. I really like the lyric – simple theme but universal and a good message. I wasn’t sure about the pause before you brought in the last chorus. It felt like it could have ended on the “Don’t lose yourself….”s quite nicely and I think I might have done that myself but I understand why you’d want to go for that last chorus. Good song – enjoyed it.

Thank you. Yeah, I know what you mean about the end. The 'don't lose yourself' bit was written so that when played live, it would be an extended singalong section.

Hey Nick
sounds combative enough with any thing on radio I've heard
It has a great flow musically and lyrically
Thumbs up from me

Many thanks, @Elvis Nash

To me, of all the songs I've attempted to write, this certainly feels quite commercial. I'm looking forward to hearing it when it's had a final mix and been through the mastering process.

We've got a band rehearsal next weekend and this is one on the list of songs to learn to play live so I'm quite excited by that too!!
