Hi here's my first effort. I had the afternoon off work so I decided to have a go at recording this song. I was aiming at a rockabilly sound so its just one guitar (gretsch), bass and the best I can manage with drums. I'd welcome any feedback.

Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Its a strange kind of lovin’ between you and me,
Whatever we are doing we just can’t agree,
I say it’s you and you blame me,
I love you baby but you’re driving me crazy  Yeh Yeh
I say black and you say white,
You tell me that I’m wrong when I know that I’m righ
Its a strange kind of lovin’ and that’s for sure
I love you baby but you’re driving me crazy  Yeh Yeh
And when you smile your Sweet Sweet Smile your eyes light up the room,
And When I kiss your honey lips, it makes my heart go boom boom boom
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
I say yes and you say no
I put on the breaks and you say go
Its a strange kind of lovin’ and that’s for sure
I love you baby but you’re driving me crazy  Yeh Yeh
And when you whisper soft and low in the middle of the night,
Some may say that it’s a worn cliché but your lovin’ feels so right
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Its a strange kind of lovin’ between you and me,
Whatever we are doing we just can’t agree,
I say it’s you and you blame me,
I love you baby but you’re driving me crazy  Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh

Thanks,
Gary

Hi gary,

This is a brilliant first song on here.  I love it, I like that rockabilly sound and the fashion too!

Here's a publisher that's near me actually in London, they are rock' n roll and rockabilly publishers.  Why not give it a go, it's a strong song.

Such a cool sound and what a beautiful guitar. Great recording. I think you should have put more old fashioned reverb on the vocals but otherwise, bloody excellent.

Hi Gary.

Loved the song. Guitar playing, well, all the instrumentation, was spot on. The Gretsch sounds mega. Been hanging my nose over one for months - just because they look so damn cool. If anything I would have liked the vocals to have a little more edge - like Brian Setzer.

But good stuff.

Gary,
Great to hear something really live and full of life.
Interesting to hear an upbeat song in minor key. I liked the quiet bit at 1.30.
Just watch out for the timing occasionally sounded slight odd which could spoil the grove.
Great guitar tone. What amp did you use?
Imagine its a gas to play live with the audience doing the yeah, yeah, years
Twanging

Great guitar tone - really liked the solo and the choice of scale - very authentic sounding.

I think there were one or two slight timing issues - but the song I thought was fun, had a good structure and melody. Very nice first post Gary.

Cheers Neil, Its a Fender Blues Junior III they're lovely little amps. I used a Boss dd20 for the slap back, a MXR distortion + set at it minimum distortion to give a clean boost and the amps reverb. Simple but effective.

A song from 50 years ago, written yesterday. I love that!

Really suits the style, nice guitar tones and the short length is great for the type of song. The tempo means a lot happens during its time and everything works. A little more "bite" to the vocal would perhaps work, but then some of the 50s stuff did the polite vocal over rockier backing so there is that to consider!

Great first post! JNx
