Been listening to some siouxsie and the banshees and that type of thing, this is the final song on the first side of the album, just before the main character has his first huge concert, so I wanted to give it an intensity and eeling of contrast or conflict as the inner emotions come to the surface.   Still a demo so the mix and some of the singing may improve for the final album version.

Streetlights bright on a rain night
All alone in the wind outside
My Fingers numb and Raincoats wet
Girl in my head I cant forget

Light a smoke walk up the road
Taste the tar and bitter cold
Been So long feels like shes dead
Recall words that she once said

(Im always closeby
for every Moonrise
no need to hide your tears from me)

Hard to find someone who talks to me real
Hard to find words to say how I feel
Heads a mess like abstract art
Radio Has killed my Heart

Raise the mask and step on stage
Cant hear the crowd over the bass
Stardoms not what it seems to be
The Winners die, the Losers free

The Tvs static Vodkas strong
My Heart is Blind and Hearings gone
They sing my songs but don't understand
They see out tears but cheer the band

(I Really Miss you
Wish I could kiss you
Oh please lets go get sleep at home)

Hard to find someone who talks to me real
Hard to find words to say how I feel
Heads a mess like abstract art
Radio Has killed my Heart

(I Will Be truthful
and always love you
No day goes by without you in my heart)

Hard to find someone who talks to me real
Hard to find words to say how I feel
Heads a mess like abstract art
Radio Has killed my Heart

Hard to find someone who talks to me real
Hard to find words to say how I feel
Heads a mess like abstract art
Radio Has killed my Heart

Yeah. Really like this. As Seb mentions it's really catchy. I personally like the production as it is. Sure it's a bit scratchy in places but love how it rises and falls in volume. Real emphasis on the lead verse. A foot tapper. And great influences showing through. From Barratt to the Banshees your sources for inspiration are only going to end well

Hey Dom, I like the 'abstract art' line a lot.  Also the intensity of the choruses - they come in with a punch.  I think you got the late 80s / early 90s indie vibe that Siouxsie may have inspired... I was getting shades of The Wedding Present from it too.  I reckon you can make a better pass of the vocals though for the final version (based on your other songs).  Very nice unhinged solo towards the end.  Very much my cup of tea - I'd like to hear the polished version.
It's all too beautiful.

This is really cool. I love the groove. I also really dig the mysterious vibe that I get from the lyrics. My only problem is the guitar in the back (is that a guitar?) I just feel like if it stopped for one of the sections and then came back in it would be so much cooler just so we wouldn't get used to it that's all. But yeah I really like this :D
and though we cry
we must stay alive
let my blood only run out
when my world decides
there is no way out
of your only life
so run on...
run on

@Dom Hunt - I really like this, you have a natural song writing talent, and I just dig your voice, love the funky radio part.. could add some punk distortion when you retun to the verse, might add some contrast.

You might also sing alternate lines in 2 takes, so you're not squashing in the beginnings of the lines.

A Stranglers bass won't go amiss in this one.

Great work Dom.

Hi Dom, I thought you were singing 'Radio Killed My Cat' which could be even better!  ;) But I liked this a lot, reminded me of Joy Division and Magazine, and similar New Wave bands of the late 70s.

There are some really catchy bits in there, plus the vocal delivery really cuts through - along with quite contrasting backing vocals. Lots of subtlety too, despite the rawness of it, incl the clever outro.

All good stuff!
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.
