I'm thinking of singing this on, 'Britains got talent'.

                    I Wanna Be a Star

Their’s always been something missing in my life
But it’s not love… got a very loving wife
I’ve got children to die for grandchildren to live for
Got a beautiful home and a cat that’s called T.C.

So I wrote a book and I wrote a play and I sent them near and far
Got a lot of nice reviews but as they say got no cigar
Then one day out shopping at my local bazaar
There looking lost and lonely I saw an old guitar

So off I went to You tube to try and make a name
Then all of a sudden my eureka moment came
From that moment on my life would never be the same
What I’ve always wanted… I have wanted fame.

I want applause… I want adulation
I want a fifty foot car I want to be a star
I want an agent I want paparazzi at my door
I wanna be a star I wanna be a star

I don’t want to be like the queen who’s clapped whenever she seen
she walks along the stage the crowd go in a rage
I don’t want to be patronised I just want to be recognised
I wanna be a star I wanna be a star

It’s up to you it doesn’t matter what I do
Only you can make my dream come true
I’m gunna keep on writing I’m gunna to keep on fighting
Until I feel …I feel like I belong

I want applause… I want adulation
I want a sixty foot car I wanna be a star
I want an angent I want paparazzi at my door
I want to be a star I wanna be a star

I want applause… I want adulation
I want a Seventy foot car I wanna be a star
I want an agent I want paparazzi at my door
I want to be a star I wanna be a star.

Love this, had a little tune in my head whilst reading it. The rhymes are great and this song is not only very relatable for many people but has an air of humour to it. Especially love the way this one starts, really original, with a little twist. I just love it, I have nothing more to say!

Bump to Jess' points above.Lyrics flow really well and I also had a bouncing little tune in my head when reading them. I like the original twist on the age old 'I wanna be a star' theme, the start gives this song sincerity where others sadly fail. I like the tone of the song too as it veers away from the normal I want loads of money, girls, fast cars etc in your face approach of songs of this style. Ok it does say you want a 50/60/70 foot car but in a tongue in cheek manner rather than a grotesque manner :)

I was h site at first but the more I got into the better I thought it was. It is a good song. The chorus sort of reminds me of Rockstar by Nickleback (sorry if you're not a fan). I really like the verse about the queen, thought that was really good and different.
