Most of this one just 'came to me' and I just finished it off.  It might make it onto my concept album "Four course menu of the apocalypse" but I'm not sure yet.  Hope it entertains.

Wagon Wheels

verse
Four meals on my wagon wheels, trying to get your measure
Seems smaller than it used to be and only half the pleasure
Three meals on my wagon wheels, see me rolling along
Obesegens are after me but I'm still going strong

chorus
We thought they were a different size
We don't believe our figures
These wagon wheels, they seem so small
'Cos everything else is bigger

Two meals on my wagon wheels, you'd think that I don't care
Shall I take another one , I'm only half way there
One meal on my wagon wheel, I'm trying to soldier on
My biscuit tin keeps calling me cos now there's only one

chorus
We thought they were a different size
Does anybody know
Why wagon wheels now seem so small
'Cos everything else has grown

bridge
can't get my arms around my middle
can't see past my waist
can't get my head around this riddle
it leaves a nasty taste

Eight meals on my wagon wheels, buy one get one free
I don't know when I've had enough to satisfy my need

chorus
We thought they were a different size
We don't believe our figures
These wagon wheels, they seem so small
'Cos everything else is bigger

Hi GTB,

This was a fun read.

It's not only Wagon Wheels that are getting smaller. Chocolate bars are half the size and twice the price nowadays! It's all down to a guy nicknamed 'Chocfinger' who bought up all the European cocoa on the commodities market.

Nice one,

Phil.
I don't know what i'm doing but i do it anyway.

Reading this made me smile - the bridge especially. The rhyming between 'meals' and 'wheels' has a nice catchiness to it :)

I have absolutely no idea what this song is about, but I am now humming it so I guess it qualifies as a success :)

In the U.S. a potato chip company had an ad campaign based around "Bet You Can't Eat just one."

I cannot "eat just one."  Some people can.  I'm guessing that you either are one of the people who cannot, or you know and empathize with someone who cannot.  The song "eats around the fringes" of saying that as I read it, but (rightly I think) makes us reason it out for ourselves.

It sings with a complete ease.

these are great lyrics, really enjoyed the read :)
the lyrics are nice and bouncy, they flow really well, got a melody in my head while i was reading them..
i really wouldnt change a thing about this lyric
the only thing i'd be afraid of, would be the name.
i'm sure you know yourself, there is already a massive song called wagon wheel, and this might get mixed up with it, but that's a small thing and probably doesnt even matter :)
well, that escalated quickly..
