@David Christy Jones - He's captured my thoughts exactly, one just has to listen to the perfect weaving of obscure lyrics, intricate simple rhtymns and husky vocal delivery, just superb.
If I were to suggest anything that could improve it for mass release would be tiny things, I'd maybe try a different guitar (a big Taylor or a Gibson maybe, along with a parlour Martin, then pick the best sounding one), new strings, longer nails on your picking hand, might just add a little brightness to it, I'd try a tiny smidgen of 'verb on the gtr, (but I wouldn't be surprised if I ditched the idea after hearing it) but leave the Vox dry, and very intimate.
The last time I heard someone that captivated me in this way was Rikki Lee Jones with her Pop-Pop album (in the 1990's), so so different from the mainstream, I used to listen to it whilst falling asleep on the sofa watching Serie A.
