Another story
Please review guys
really hope you enjoy!

John Doe

I can't drink whiskey, burns my throat
so I guess that rules out rock and roll
got no opinions, still too young to vote
put a gun in my hand and said enroll

My name is Mr John Doe
Please, let me go home

Seventeen, don't speak my mind
it isn't my place, I think he said
too old to be scared, too young to cry
in his eyes, he knows I'm already dead

My name is Mr John Doe
Please, let me go home

I had a friend, I don't anymore
he was there, now he's all gone
if your angry blame it on the war
men who know better, never done wrong

My name is Mr John Doe
Please, let me go home

If I died tonight, yeah right here
can't say no one will miss me at all
but I'm sure they will then move on
after all I'm just a small town boy

My name is Mr John Doe
Please, let me go home

oh man, great work, Soul Punk

that is great, the sadness and pointlessnes of being in the army for this John Doe is put into words very smartly

no bravery, he just wants to go home

Another fantastic lyric! I'm really enjoying reading your songs. :)
You paint very interesting and colourful pictures.
There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in  , but they're ever so small, that's why rain is thin.

Really poignant. Interesting lyrical twists in places (too old to be scared, too young to cry). Very sad, you really get that sense of a loss of innocence from reading it. Well done :D

Thank you guys

I love writing protest songs, but I also dont wanna bore people
simplifying things (tone and other'ssuggestion) seems to have paid off

much obliged

I really, really love the lyrics you post. They just capture emotion so well. Keep it up, man, keep it up.
