Title: Applause Tribute Collaboration for Dutchbeat
Post by: MichaelA on March 20, 2021, 02:07:11 PM
Hi, following on from the sad news of Dutchbeat's death an Applause Tribute track has been organised. A number of this forum's members took part, as well as mostly members from Dutchbeat's own forum, Songwriters In The Kitchen based in the Netherlands.

If anybody is interested in hearing this the link is here:

Thanks to all who joined in. He will be missed.

This is sooo beautiful @MichaelA (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21274) , I broke into tears when heard the results this afternoon, which you sent me to upload to the kitchen SC page. I'll find some more words for this. But for now I want you to know that DB would have loved this, and it is done sooo tastefully and so many people cooperated (thank you everybody!!). Thank you my friend, for making this possible!!
RIP and enjoy the applause Dutchbeat !
Cheers, Love and Peace,
Mar T.

Received a message from Mrs DB and family. They're moved by this heartfelt initiative.. She asked me to up a few words for her, here they are:

'We would like to express our gratitude for all your kind words about Dutchbeat’s after his passing. He loved the forum and all of the kitcheneers and he was determined to put a smile on your faces, even if that would mean putting on a silly hat or uploading a weird video. I recognize several of your names as he talked about you and he couldn’t wait until the Covid pandemic was over and he could try to organize to meet up with you.

Special thanks to MichaelA who initiated, composed and organized the applause-song for Dutchbeat and also to everyone who participated. It feels very good to know how much he was appreciated and the fact that that appreciation is bundled into a song makes it a precious piece of art.

If there was one last thing that Dutchbeat would have wanted to say to you it would be:

‘Do what you love and love what you do, and everything will be o.k. ‘

Thank you all very much.'

@MartiMedia (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20148),

thank you for staying in touch with the members of this forum.  Please thank Mrs DB and family. There will always be a place for Henk in the hearts of the many forum members who were fortunate to know Henk through their musical connections.

Hi @MartiMedia (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20148), how lovely to hear from the family. I was honoured to play a part in this, but there were many other fine contributions too. It was a great collaboration, everyone doing something special to honour a very special human being.

I will always treasure this little project that we did together. Thanks for sharing the message, Marty.
