I like the arrangement with that guitar that appears from time to time, as well as the changes, everything suits the story so full of calm sadness @Paul V
Muy bonita.

Hola

I didn't know what I was going to hear...and I loved it, it has a very fresh, enveloping sound and the voice, any FX? It stands out great in the mix without the arrangement getting lost behind.
Very nice melodies and changes, catchy, a different story, another person's broken love, very good job!! Suena genial!!! @Elvis Nash

This is 'Do You Dare?' from the album suite of songs written one week in March.  For my beautiful Mam Margaret.  It will be the third anniversary of her passing this Thursday.

Do You Dare

Take Me Down to the oak tree by the lake,
where bumble bees take flight.
Pour me a cool glass of lemonade; watch me fade.
Take me down and we’ll reminisce,
you’ll be surprised what you hear.
Pull up a chair, tell me that you care. Do you dare?

I see you with your father in the sun.
If I could catch your gaze, would you know my name?

This is where my broken heart resides;
an early bird without flight.
Here in the shade, I could still belong; of course, I’m wrong.

Take my hand. Let us walk a while,
where warm sun falls on my skin.
Pull up a chair, tell me that you care.
Do you dare?

I see you with your father in the sun.
If I could catch your gaze, would you know my name?

To drift on a boat. ‘neath the winter sky.  to lose all sight of land.

Take me down and we’ll reminisce,
you’ll be surprised what you hear.
Pull up a chair, tell me that you care. Do you dare?

A very clever arrangement and a lovely tribute.

The mix is crystal clear and I can hear every element. Lots of ear candy.

Is that a classical guitar I can hear?

I feel the "To drift on a boat" section could have been expanded more as the melody there is so lovely, but you only used it on this one line. I feel it contrasts perfectly with the minor sections.

Hi @Elvis Nash

I know I joke about not liking country music, but I will say that this is excellent all round.

Apart from the production (which is up to commercial release standard), the song contains all the elements for what I consider makes a great song.

It has a great hook / chorus, dynamics and variety in the arrangement. I think you constantly succeed in creating a reason for the listener to come back to your music if they are a fan of this genre.

10/10

Why you calling me up today
How ya get my number anyway
What cha mean I was hitting on your girl
I'm not the one who wrecked her whole world

Don't blame me
I'm not the one who left her lonely

It's got a happy ending , I'll break my rules without one . I was lazy , but finished it . That's the good part on doing country music , you can be older and kinda get away with it , Alt rock , you got kids with new trends and your still listening to the Beatles . Thanks

I’m still running jumping hurdles
I count my troubles by the bundles
A mountain of stress weighs on my chest
Next week I go in for tests

The horizon is a sheet of dark clouds
I eat I sleep and every night I dream about

I'm on a river with Marie
The moon is a bit brighter
The world a tad kinder
Time hangs like a vine from a mangrove tree,
Somewhere south of a memory

The doctor’s prognosis isn’t good
A broken heart can’t be fixed like wood
A year ago I had my whole life to live
Now its Jack Daniels and sedatives

I'd rather talk to her ghost at midnight stoned
At least I won't feel so damn alone

I wish I could stay here for eternity

Great intro. Very hypnotics. I often lose track of time. Especially when I'm up late working on a song. Another classic track Mora. I really enjoyed this. :)

Hola Chris, qu´tal estás? Thank you so much, glad you liked it. @ChrisPrice

A lovely tribute to Margaret. It's more upbeat than I expected..nothing wrong with that of course. Another really well crafted song Paul, and sung in your distinct style. The lyrics paint a picture so well. Love it. :)
